Kitty & Carole course highlights 2018
20 ladies from two Aberdeen lace-making groups enjoyed a two-day course with Kitty Mason and Carole Smith, well-known teachers of bobbin lace in Scotland. The theme this year was Core Skills i.e. starting and finishing in particular. While some ladies wanted advice and help with a particular piece they were working on, others made bookmarks in Torchon, Bucks Point and Bedfordshire lace with varying degrees of difficulty.
There was a competition to find new uses for a bookmark in the age of Kindles and ebooks.
Needless to say, lots of chat, tea & coffee and home bakes interrupted the lace-making!
